Job Description

We have a vacancy for a proactive and enthusiastic Senior HR Business Partner who will support the Marston’s Food Pubs Operations team on a 12-month fixed term basis.

We are looking for someone who can drive business performance by working collaboratively with Heads of Departments and Managers by providing sound commercial advice and people centric solutions. You will need to build strong relationships with your stakeholders and work with them to develop their people and culture plan for your area. You will be responsible for all elements of people operations including, Resourcing, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, Reward & Recognition, Employee Engagement & Communication.

This is a strategic Senior HR Business Partner role that will also include line management responsibility. This role reports to the Head of HR Business Partnering and is an agile role, so you will manage your own diary to suit business needs.

In this role you will

  • Have line management responsibility of the HRBP team in your area
  • Be a trusted partner to the Head of Operations, influencing and supporting to ensure they take ownership and accountability for the performance and development of their people
  • Be accountable for ensuring the operational structures are fit for purpose and regularly reviewed
  • Create and take a lead on the people plan for your business area, using data to provide insight and identify trends that will increase performance and engagement
  • Work with your aligned centres of excellence to ensure delivery of the People Plan in your business area, ensuring prioritisation of project work that is aligned to the strategic imperatives 
  • Be able to effectively communicate key feedback and actions in a timely fashion to the centres of excellence and relevant stakeholders 
  • Develop an engagement plan for your area and drive effective action planning ensuring Marston’s have a two-way listening culture
  • Continue to drive and embed performance and career development conversations in your business area
  • Attend and contribute to relevant Heads Of and departmental management meetings
  • Deputise for the Head of HR Business Partnering when required

The Ideal candidate will

  • Enjoy working at pace in a supportive, forward thinking and busy team
  • Have excellent communication skills and be comfortable regularly presenting at senior management meetings
  • Have effective line management skills, building capability through excellent leadership
  • Have restless energy, being passionate and driven by results
  • Be able to analyse data, spot trends and make recommendations for improvement
  • Have the ability to coach and positively influence peers and senior leaders
  • Have project and change management experience and be able to manage several projects at the same time
  • Have strong commercial awareness
  • Preferably be educated to degree standard or equivalent including full CIPD accreditation
  • Have a full UK driving licence
