Due to an exciting period of growth we are now looking for a Kitchen Skills Trainer to join the Signature Training Team within Marston’s. This is a great opportunity to join an established, high performing training team aligned to the Signature brands.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about people development, personally driven and someone who strives for greatness.

In this role you will be involved in a wide variety of activities including the development and execution of training material for our pub teams, ranging from on-site training, classroom-based delivery and one to one development. You should enjoy a customer-based role and thrive on building relationships within teams, be a confident public speaker and a natural coach.

The Role:

  • Help our pubs meet food quality, speed of service & overall satisfaction targets through designing and delivering innovative training solutions.
  • Providing effective and consistent support to Marston’s pubs teams.
  • Pre-opening training is a large part of this role, you will be expected to deliver training to new and existing team members for up to 3 weeks.
  • Supporting the food development team with menu launches and ensure food quality is the primary focus for our chefs.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders with regards to the kitchen team’s progress
  • Deliver key KPI’s on a monthly basis
  • Extensive travel is an integral part of the position and will require you to travel across our pub estate.
  • The role works closely with the FOH trainers, so it is important you understand the guest journey and how to influence this from our kitchens.
  • Promote the Marston’s career path.
  • The role will involve different delivery methods including on-site training, classroom based and webinars.

  • Strong organisational skills and project management/time management skills
  • Quick thinking and versatile
  • Proven experience in hospitality/retail industry
  • Proven experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Can motivate and inspire high performers and engage with those who need further support.
  • Must be flexible to work regular evenings, weekends and overnight stays in line with the nature of the business.
  • Be able to work individually and work collaboratively with others.
  • Good understanding of all Microsoft packages
  • Confident in presenting to small and large groups of delegates.
  • Great communication skills, interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service.
  • Able to travel nationwide and has access to own vehicle.

Extensive travel will require you to have independent transport and a driving license.
